City Deal Milton Road we want your views

Milton_Road_Map_v.pngCambridge is growing. Already we have pollution in roads around Elizabeth Way. A new development at Waterbeach and 33,000 new homes in Greater Cambridge mean more people want to get into Cambridge.

Traffic on Milton Road is often congested while few buses stop for local people. At Mitcham’s Corner bus routes pass through but many of the longer distance and Park & Ride don’t stop. This is despite about 1000 people working in the area and the resultant pressure on parking.

So what is the answer?

Labour believes the answer is to increase the use of public transport, cycles and walking.

We are calling for a special meeting of the City Council North Area Committee so that residents have a real chance to have their say. As well, Councillor Jocelynne Scutt is on the Highways and Community Infrastructure Committee of the County Council and would be very pleased to hear your ideas and concerns and take them forward on your behalf.
