Mike Sargeant - Labour's Candidate for West Chesterton

Mike Sargeant is proud to have been selected to stand for West Chesterton in the City Council Elections in May.Mike_Mitchams_Corner.jpg

“Labour is committed to ensuring that all people share in Cambridge’s prosperity and I want to carry on playing  my part” says Mike.

Mike has been active in the local community for many years. His activities have included:

  • Helping to move Milton Road School into  it’s excellent new premises
  • Working for improved safety on Gilbert Road
  • Campaigning against Chesterton Community College becoming an Academy
  • Speaking up for local residents opposed to the 1 Milton Road development at the City Council
  • Securing a new Sports Pavilion for Chesterton Community College

Mike says “ West Chesterton needs a strong voice prepared to take on the big issues facing local people. I am passionate about improving West Chesterton — for too long it has been neglected and allowed to stagnate. Jocelynne has made a good start . I will work with her to  make sure your voice is heard and areas like Mitcham's Corner move forward. Please make sure you share your views as we work together on making our area better.”
