City Deal Milton Road - Local Liaison Forum Working with Residents

Milton Road residents and residents of neighbouring streets working with Milton Road Local Liaison Forum (LLF) in a year of meetings, MR_City_Deal.pngworkshops, discussions, e-mail exchanges, and on site visits has ensured:

  • 'Do Optimum' from Residents’ Associations and Camcycle has been the basis of further progress on Milton Road City Deal Scheme
  • Union Lane - will remain open
  • Highworth Avenue roundabout - saved
  • No banning of right hand turns
  • No double bus lanes
  • Avenue of trees & grass verges throughout
  • Generally, cyclists & pedestrians protected from traffic by trees and verges, with two-way cycling for children’s safety – on ‘generally’, we emphasise discussions with City Deal officers and LLF representatives are ongoing

On 17th July, 6pm at Chesterton Community College, a Stakeholder Meeting will enable further discussions before the City Deal Assembly and Board consider Milton Road on 19th and 26th respectively. You have the opportunity to put across your views at all these meetings. We are identifying aspects requiring more work, so that the LLF report to the City Deal Assembly and Board will make residents' voices heard - loudly and clearly, without equivocation.

Cllr Jocelynne Scutt says “We are working with residents to ensure a good outcome for local people—as a residential road where pollution and congestion is minimised. As LLF Chair, I have ensured that Residents’ Associations and CamCycle have had the maximum opportunities to work with City Deal Officers to promote ‘Do Optimum’ and appreciate the effort which benefits us all.”
